![]() I would recommend this to anyone looking for an everyday soft contour and highlight, anyone with normal to oily skin, and to anyone just learning to play with makeup. Overall, for the price point it's a good palette. As a highlight on the cheekbones, the shades were fine, but nothing overly exciting or blinding. Honestly, I would rather use a different concealer under the eyes, as the powders seemed to settle into the fine line areas. The only thing I didn't like about this palette were the two lighter shades, which really didn't show up well on my skin tone. I have normal-to oily skin and this product worked well for me. It comes in such a sleek little package which. If you still want to use a powder contour, I would suggest using a hydrating primer or dewy foundation on the skin beforehand to give a barrier between the product and your skin. The bronzer is just lovely- I find it similar to Too Faceds Sun Bunny- goldy-bronze thats not too shimmery. Cream contours would definitely work better for you, and leave your skin with a more natural finish. Powder contours on dry skin, have a tendency to accentuate the dry areas leaving a flaky look and can accentuate fine lines around the face. If you want a more defined intense contour, the darker shades in this palette also offers you the ability to work and build them up to your own desired shades for 'carving out your face'.ĭry Skin: If you have very dry skin, I would try to steer clear of this product or any powder contours. Also, I would definitely recommend this palette for you, over a cream contour, as creams can accentuate the oiliness on your skin and could leave your skin feeling heavy, or cakey. A powder contour like this blends out well, and leaves your skin with a matte finish, as opposed to the dewy finish you would get with a cream contour. Oily Skin: This is a great contour palette for you, especially for the price. I did notice that the shades did eventually fade throughout the day so perhaps looking into a setting spray after applying your makeup in the morning, might help to keep the product on longer, especially for the summer months. ![]() The products blended out well and didn't make my skin feel heavy throughout the day. The bottom two darker shades did a much better when I swatched them and had no trouble transferring in one or two swipes.Īpplying the makeup on my face was easy and left me with a more natural looking matte contour. ![]() Rosy pinks, golds, purples, and grays are best for brown eyes, like the shades Amber Rush, Glistening Garnet, Smoldering Plum, or Bronzed Taupe. If you gravitate toward shimmery shadows, pick up a pot or two of this long-lasting, light-reflecting formula from LOreal. Both of the lighter shades didn't transfer as well as I was hoping they would, and needed a few swipes with some pressure before the shades would show up on my skin. LOreal Paris Infallible 24HR Shadow in Amber Rush. The same with the yellow/orange shade (top right), though for me that one felt a little less chalky than the previous. ![]() This 2016 Allure Winner is gaurenteed to give. My first finger swatch of each shade was okay, they all initially felt smooth but the lightest one (top left) felt a bit chalky. Designed to highlight, sharpen, and sculpt this Cream Contour Palette gives you a professional finish every time. There are four shades, two lighter shades that can be used for highlighting, and the two darker matte shades for contouring (one warm and one cool). Natural hair brushes are easier to use with powder products than synthetic brushes. I would apply these shades with a wet beauty sponge or a makeup brush with natural hairs. It's a nice size palette and easy to pack for travelling or in your purse for everyday. The pans are a good size, especially for the price (I paid $7.99 plus tax). Most people who are interested in Makeup Revolution products are concerned with price and are looking for alternatives to modern high end products. When I first opened this palette, I was happy to see a full mirror on the top side and the four powder shades directly below. I got it for $7.50 on BOGO 50% off from Ulta + Ebates Cash Back.
